research path

Proposed Research.

What makes a “conscious consumer” conscious?  Why do some consumers make consumer choices consistent with their values while others do not?

Implications of the study:
This research will create a new understanding for the advancement of ethical consumerism and provide insights for those invested in growing a “green economy.”  The new “green economy” relies heavily on “conscious consumers” making new consumer choices consistent with their values. I also hope to provide insights for the advancement of social justice -- helping social justice movements better frame their messages, attract support, and allign others with their cause.

Volunteers needed:
I am interviewing up to 200 people who make consumer choices based on ethical reasoning – for human rights reasons, environmental reasons, and/or because they care about animals. (note: volunteers are no longer needed at this time)
