We’re bombarded with advertisements and infomercials that promise RESULTS if you just try their product for 30 days. Actually, this isn’t false advertising. The product pushers know what they’re doing. They hook you with a picture of a perfect body, and then they flash their product on the screen. Your mind does the rest. You think that if you use that product, your body will look like the model’s in 30 days, but the ad didn’t say you’ll actually look like the model. The ad promised “results” after using their product for 30 long days.
For someone who is just starting an exercise program, 30 days is an eternity. They buy the product excited to see the magic. They use the product the first day, maybe 3 days in a row, but it turns into work. The product gets shoved under the bed or in the closet. If they had actually stuck it out and used the product for 30 days, they probably would have seen results, but then what?
When it comes to physical fitness, you have to come to the realization that it is a lifelong commitment. You can’t just exercise once or twice a week every other week or month and expect to see big changes, or any changes. If you want to change your body, you have to change your behaviors. In addition to exercising regularly, you have to eat healthfully. Diet and exercise go hand in hand.
Make fitness a priority. Here is my infomercial: take a brisk half-hour walk every day and eat healthfully, and you will see RESULTS after 30 days! Add some weight-lifting a few times a week to your walking routine, and you will see results faster!
