Hello and welcome! My name is matt bear. I'm a social justice activist working to make the world a more just and compassionate place. I am a Connector and founder of NonviolenceUnited.org (see my projects page). I received my Masters degree in sociology from the University of Colorado (CU). While at CU, I was a Teaching Assistant lecturing and teaching undergraduate students. I also received my College Teaching Certificate from CU in May 2010. This site is designed to introduce you to my academic work, teaching credentials, work history, and my research. My research interests are in social justice -- helping to make the world a more compassionate place for other people, for the planet, and for animals. I'm particularly interested in Nonviolence theory, social movements, and "commoditiy chains" -- where the things we buy come from, why we buy the things we do, and how our consumer choices affect others. Please explore further (see the links to the left). If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for stopping by. And thank you for all that you do. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm |
